Your membership fee is waived the first year. We've built our home swap network on the philosophy that we should receive compensation only when you receive a benefit. You only pay when you arrange an exchange. Once you join our home exchange network, you can browse through our 1,500 home listings, contact members whose homes you are interested in visiting, or have our Exchange Coordinators arrange a home exchange for you, all before you pay a dime.

Stay at Another Member's Home, Even If They're Not Interested in Your Home

The typical house exchange, which is the only type offered by other home swap programs, involves two primary home owners who try to swap homes with each other at the same time. This can be as difficult to arrange as it sounds. At The Vacation Exchange Network, we also offer indirect house exchanges. In this case, you can use another member’s home even if that member doesn’t want to use your home. Maybe you have a Colorado ski chalet, but they want to sunbathe on the beach. Maybe you’d like to travel in the winter, but they only want to travel during the spring. The uniqueness of our Network is that you don't need to find an exchange partner who wants to use your vacation home in order for you to use their vacation home. Only The Vacation Exchange Network allows for this flexibility.

To facilitate exchanges, we offer two types of home swaps:

Direct Exchange: You and another member exchange homes with each other. The dates of travel need not be simultaneous. Since all of the homes in our Network are second homes, they available a large portion of the year.

Indirect Exchange: You use another member's home even if they choose not to use your home. The member allowing use of his or her home receives an Exchange Credit which is applied as payment when arranging an exchange with any other member. This non-mutual type of housing swap is exclusive to The Vacation Exchange Network.

Our Network is the only home exchange program consisting entirely of vacation and second homes, an idea initiated to help more home exchangers find swaps. The homes in our Network are vacation homes and second homes. Limiting our home listings to vacation houses, condominiums, and apartments is a core element of our commitment to arrange more home swaps than any other program. We also believe that your housing swaps should feel like real vacations, rather than simply an exchange of your own suburban home for another person’s suburban home. Our focus on vacation and second homes also facilitates flexibility in travel dates, since you and your home swap partner do not need to vacation during the same week.

Other housing exchange programs charge you to list your home while providing no other service. They expect you to spend hours, perhaps days, finding your own home exchange. We run our company differently. The Vacation Exchange Network does the work; you enjoy the exchange. Simply contact our Exchange Coordinators when you know where and when you’d like to travel. We’ll contact those members whose homes are located in the vacation destination(s) you've identified and provide you with a list of available homes. Then, you decide which of these properties will meet your vacation needs and make final arrangements with the other homeowner. Of course, you are also welcome to browse through our listings of immediately available properties or all of our vacation home listings, and do your own arranging!

Unlike other home swap companies that require you to join before you see the homes listed on their website, you can see each and every one of our beautiful 1,500+ properties. We have more homes available for holiday house exchanges in every resort area, and we're proud to show them all. Each property has met The Vacation Exchange Network's criteria for location, value and availability. As you browse through the homes in our Network, you will find that all of the homes we list are current. Unlike other housing exchange programs who display old or stale listings simply to boost their numbers, we only keep current members who are currently interested in exchanging. Additionally, all of the homes we allow in our Network are listed for the purposes of home exchange. Other sites artificially increase their numbers by also including rental listings. You will find that all of our members are dedicated to home exchange as a way to travel affordably!
