I’ve
never exchanged before.
Does The Vacation Exchange Network provide exchange
guidelines?
Yes.
We provide an Agreement between members that lists the
types of details you should discuss when planning an exchange. <back>
-
How
many properties are in the Network?
The number of vacation properties is growing daily.
We currently have over 1000 properties, including domestic
and international. <back>
-
How
do I arrange an exchange?
The process is very simple.
Either, contact us and we'll do all the initial searching for
you, at no additional fee. Or, look through The VacationExchange
website for vacation properties you're interested in visiting,
contact the other member and arrange the exchange.
See How To Make an
Exchange for
complete information. <back>
-
Are
exchanges made directly between two members?
Members have the option of making Direct and Indirect
Exchanges. <back>
-
What is the difference between Direct and Indirect Exchanges?
A Direct Exchange is when two members agree to exchange with
each other. An Indirect Exchange is when one member allows
another member to use her property. The member allowing
use of her property receives an Exchange Credit for use at a
later time. <back>
-
What is an Exchange Credit and how is it used?
A member allowing another member to use his property for an Indirect Exchange receives a $250.00 Exchange Credit which can be used at a later time to pay in full for a Direct Exchange or to apply to the $500.00 Indirect Exchange fee. <back>
-
How easy is it to make an exchange?
Very easy, since members have the option of making Direct or
Indirect Exchanges. A recent survey among members
identified that it generally takes less than three contacts to
arrange an exchange. And remember, you only pay when you
make an exchange. <back>
-
Does The VacationExchange Network staff arrange the
exchanges?
When you are ready to make an exchange, just tell us where
you want to go and when, and we will do all of the initial
searching for you. We then put you in touch with other members
interested in your exchange. This direct contact between members
works best because members like talking to the people who will
be using their home, getting to know them and advising them of
the Do's and Don'ts. <back>
-
Do I have to exchange with another member when they contact
me?
No, the Network affords total flexibility. Each member
decides if, and when, to accept a Direct Exchange or to allow an
Indirect Exchange. <back>
-
Must exchanges take place during the same week(s)?
No. Since all VacationExchange properties are vacation
homes and are available most of the year, exchanges do not need
to occur during the same week. <back>
-
What is the fee when I make an exchange?
The fee for a Direct Exchange is $250.00 for each member, paid when an exchange is made. The fee for an Indirect Exchange is $500.00 for the member using the other member's property

if I'm unable to make an exchange?
You only pay when you make an exchange. <back>

arrangements with scores of Property Managers who now offer the
service to their clients.
